Fortunately, our air travel, transfers, port excursions, and 7-day cruise all went quite smoothly. While on our cruise ship, we spoke with a number of other passengers who experienced flight delays, cancellations, and other difficulties in their travels. This reminded me of the added peace of mind knowing I was insured. Prior to purchasing travel insurance, I spoke with a customer service representative at InsureMyTrip who suggested several possible options based upon my trip details. I compared the choices, and selected the Nationwide Universal Cruise policy, which I thought matched my needs.

It sounds like you were trying to reach InsureMyTrip's customer service which is open on weekends from 9AM - 9PM EST. When you are traveling, please remember it is your insurance company's 24-hour emergency assistance number that you should be calling for any travel-related issues. The assistance companies have 2 telephone numbers: one toll free to call when inside the U.S. and Canada; one to call collect when outside the U.S. They are available around the clock to provide you with assistance.
We always purchase trip insurance before going on international trips, and when we get home, I'm always thankful that we didn't have to use it, but on the last day of our most recent trip, unfortunately, we had to use the insurance as my husband got chest pains, and we had to go by ambulance to the emergency hospital in Mexico. Luckily, it was just a heart flutter, so after three EKGs and some IV meds, we went home. The insurance we got, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company Prime, from Insuremytrip.com paid 100% of the bill that his US primary insurance didn't cover. I just got the reimbursement check today, and I only filed the claim last month.

The cost of the policy was among the best for the coverage I find most important. I had one opportunity to contact the company to get a duplicate policy. The response was quick, courteous and the document was sent to my email almost instantaneously.
