The plan gave peace of mind. The possibility of getting sick or injured abroad is concerning. Had either of us needed medical care it was good to simply have that available.

Traveled to an Eastern European country and 3rd party "insurance" was necessary. I used this as proof of insurance and had no issues. It covered the requirements to enter the country. Never used which is always positive!

This plan is easy to purchase at a very reasonable price and covers med. We have bought the plan to cover us on several cruises when we are outside of the United States where our normal insurance will not cover. Thankfully we have never had to make a claim so I can't review the claims process and whether or not there would be any issues with coverage and payment. But, I would like to think that if needed this plan would cover any medical and emergency evacuation needs that should arise outside of the country just like our regular insurance covers us when we are at home.

IT IS HARD TO REVIEW AN INSURANCE PLAN THAT I DIDN'T HAVE TO USE BUT I FELT COMFORTABLE KNOWING THAT IT WAS IN PLACE AND AFFORDABLE IF I DID HAVE TO USE IT.

Good insurance.Could I suggest you give repeat users cheaper rates, especially if no claims were filed?

Thank you for the suggestion but it would be unlikely that insurance providers would provide a lower rate for returning customers. Although this premium credit works well for personal auto and homeowners, these are annual plans that the insured may renew at the end of the policy term. Since these auto and homeowners discounts are generally based on loyalty and loss history, the insured has time to build "credit" with the insurance provider which is unlikely to happen with travel insurance that is written on a single trip basis.

Schengen Visa travel insurance plans are built for travelers who are traveling to specific areas of the world. If you are a U.S. resident who is not also a U.S. citizen, and are traveling to one of the Schengen countries, you will need a travel insurance plan that meets the requirements of a Schengen Visa.

Tokio Marine HCC Medical Insurance offers the Atlas International plan which satisfies the embassy requirements as long you purchase a plan with a 0 USD deductible. Tokio Marine will email the policy usually within 15 minutes of purchasing the policy along with instructions on printing the embassy approved letter needed to obtain the visa.

Unfortunately the documentation provided cannot be used as part of a Schengen visa application, so it ended up being useless to me and I needed to purchase a different insurance product through a travel agency in a haste.

Thank you for letting us know of the problem with the embassy. However, The Tokio Marine HCC Atlas International plan was appropriate for the Schengen Visa but you neglected to eliminate the deductible for an additional premium of 1.10 USD.

Within minutes after you purchased this policy back on July 25, 2018, Tokio Marine would have emailed your policy with instructions on how to view and print your embassy letter. Unfortunately that letter would have shown the 250 USD deductible which would not have been acceptable for the Schengen Visa.
