I would have preferred a notice that my HCC Medical Insurance Services plan was about to expire. I even asked for a reminder and was told that I would be reminded... but never was.

Thank you for letting us know that you never received your renewal notice from HCC Medical Insurance. The company does automatically send emails notifying their Insureds of their upcoming expirations. HCC did confirm that the notice was sent to your email used to purchase the policy. Unfortunately the notice must have been misdirected to a spam or junk mail folder. HCC seemed to have the best package for the best price. This plan included a few rare, important coverage in the case that they were any incidents. Nice to know we had the coverage as a family.

HCC insurance did not allow you to send any documents or claims by email and you have to mail by courier. If you live outside of the United States you'll incur further costs.

This is not what I was told at the phone by your Customer representative. The only solution I was given was the ordinay mailing service. As a result I sent the docs by DHL courier which has delivered after 20 days, and hopefully HCC will accept now my claim. If I've known it before I'd better have used the online services.May 07,2015-

HCC took 3 full months to send me my reimbursement for a pricey visit to the doctor while on an international vacation. Along the way, I checked in frequently, and it seemed their internal processing time was exceptionally slow. That said, when I started to wonder if this was a scam, I read that other reviewers had the same experience, but were ultimately paid. This is how they operate. HCC is by far the cheapest cost for the most comprehensive coverage. How often do you really have to file a travel insurance claim? If you have the patience to wait, and are willing to roll the dice a little, this is a good buy. If you want certainty, professional service, and speed, pay 3x as much for a better company.

I found this plan to be an excellent price for the amount of coverage provided. The only negative with my plan was that I paid additional premium to remove the deductible, but the one time I went to the doctor I still had to pay out of pocket because it qualified as private insurance.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. The large majority of travel insurance claims are handled on a reimbursement basis. A travel medical plan with no coinsurance, and a $0 deductible would still likely require the traveler to pay the medical expenses out of pocket.Mar 26,2015
