Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
My plane was delayed & I missed a connection. I did not arrive at my destination until the next day. I missed a whole day of my trip, They refused to pay for my missed hotel stay, my missed tour, & my missed arranged transportation from the airport to the hotel. Claim was for $249. They refused to pay. I have had 25-30 international trips since 2009 & I always get travel insurance. This is my first claim. I will never use Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. again. They are unethical & dishonest.

    Thank you very much for taking the time to submit your review. We understand that it is never pleasant to receive a denial for reimbursement under Trip Interruption coverage. However, your trip must be interrupted due to one of the specifically stated reasons listed in the policy.

    This policy covers the following under Trip Interruption:
    'Weather that causes complete cessation of services of the Common Carrier for at least twenty-four (24) consecutive hours and prevents You from reaching Your destination."

    In the future, please consider calling us prior to purchase to discuss your particular concerns and what is covered. We strongly recommend customers read the terms and conditions of the policy within the review period to determine if the policy fits your needs. If the policy does not fit your needs, it can be cancelled within the review period for a refund of premium. We do have options that offer more flexibility with weather delays. Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
When I went online the first time I made a mistake and thought I was buying for $4200 each for coverage. I never say the confirmation email until I get an follow up reminder about the upcoming trip. In looking at my account on line, it showed $4200 total for the cost - but when I got the email reminder it showed $3000 total.

Even though I messed up (and later bought additional coverage), I'm not happy that my original purchase and online account showed $4200 yet the email confirmations showed less.

I feel like I paid more additional cost then what my original purchase should have been for $4200. I called customer service and they said they could review it -- but i have not heard anything. I have the screenshot of the original email login showing the $4200 for the cost.

Not happy this time around.

I am not sure if I would recommend or not.. Seemed like a good plan but since we didn't have to use, wouldn't know. The insuremyTrip folks that we interacted with when purchasing the policy were armed with plenty of information and it was clear and concise.. Made purchasing a whiz
