Travelex was a total waste of money for us. Our airline changed time of connecting flight which we purchased as one reservation and one booking number (not even notifying us). We were told about it when we came to the airport. We missed connecting flight and had to buy airline ticket on different airline at the Bangkok airport to continue our trip. It wasn't out fault at all. It wasn't refunded by Travelex.

      The Travel Select plan you purchased is a Named Peril Policy, meaning the policy outlines the coverage included and if the reason for trip interruption, missed cruise connection, and/or trip delay is not listed, coverage does not apply. The Description of Coverage was emailed to you on October 30, 2017 at 7:57pm, when the policy was purchased.

      If the airline did not provide you with notice that your flight schedule had been changed, or the change made it impossible for you to make the connecting flight, we recommend contacting the airline, by emailing the airline’s claim department, to request reimbursement for the out of pocket expenses you incurred as a result of the change.

      We empathize with your unfortunate situation; however, we trust that you understand that based on the terms and conditions of the protection plan purchased, and the information you presented, the reason for your request for reimbursement is not covered."

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
I have been buying travel insurance here for years, although it is my first time using it for claim due the luggage lost/damage caused by the airline company. After talking to the claim center, I received the email with detailed instructions regarding the necessary documents. After getting all these documents emailed, I received an auto reply saying that the processing time would be about 15 business days. However, on the 8th business day after I sent all claim documents, I just received the check in the mail. Super efficiency that I am so impressed! I knew that I purchased travel insurances from other companies here mostly based on the price, some terms sometimes say processing would take up to 25 days. I must say Nationalwide is doing a fantastic job! I will purposely look for Nationawide for insuring my next trip for sure!

AIG Travel Travel Guard Basic
difficult to evaluate since did not need to file a claim. From my research it looked like policy would cover most important items but proof would be in the claim process. Like all insurance glad we did not need to use it

AXA Assistance USA Platinum
The problem with AXA is that many are ill trained and do not pay attention to detail. I was so sick yet had to be on the phone constantly. There are only a couple of people who truly are good and capable. Some do not know what they are doing! If they could get their act together it would be a great policy and a great company. In the end they did a lot of direct billing which was nice but the enire process was extremely stressful I still have to submit bills to them for payment so I am not sure what they will or will not cover. I asked and no one could say. I think the question was clear but no one knew the answer! The best person was Lynn who is the supervisor. But she is not there 24 by 7 and the night and werkend staff are poor. It truly is a shame. They ate suppose to be the best there is so if they are the best What are the others like. I cannot even begin to imagine.

Great price and coverage. Travelers should know that nobody is safe from a medical emergency and the cost of care/flight home can be terrible.

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Since we asked you to enter your Departure Date as the date you planned to leave home and the Return Date as the date you planned to return home, you were actually covered for travel to Panama as well as travel outside that country. If you were traveling to multiple destinations, we would have asked you to enter the country where you would be spending the most time. If spending equal time in multiple countries, we asked you to choose your first international destination, or if taking a cruise, you should have entered the first international port of arrival as your destination.

    We did go there but your original post gave a date of September 2016, which I misunderstood to be date of trip. Can't believe I planned this trip over a year ago! Anyway, I recommend your site to everyone. I urge them to buy the insurance as soon as they book the trip to ensure they are covered for preexisting conditions.

TruTravel Insurance Premier
I got sick while traveling abroad and TruTravel was very helpful answering all of my questions and following up with me. My claim was expedited quickly and I was fully reimbursed for my hospital visit. The staff was very nice and I would definitely recommend TruTravel.
