GoReady Insurance Choice
I like being able to pick and choose which options I thought was important and for a reasonable price. Luckily I did not need the insurance, but having it for emergency purposes helped put my mind at ease.

TruTravel Insurance Premier
My wife and I unfortunately had to cancel our cruise vacation due to a medical issue. The cancellation portion of our insurance was effective and covered all of our costs associated with this cancellation. The provider was easy to reach by phone and was prompt in sending the claim forms to me by email. After the claim was submitted I received my reimbursement within two weeks. I’m very pleased with this coverage and would highly recommend it to others.

Claim was mailed to Trip Mate on 10/03/17. Case was closed by Trip Mate 11/27/17 and claim was approved. Refund check was dated 11/27/17. Envelope was post marked 12/01/17. Received on 12/07/17. Why does it take 2 months to get this done?! The premium is required to be paid within 14 days of the initial deposit, in order for the pre existing conditions to be waived. All documentation to proof the claim was provided. In the age of electronics why is this so cumber some?! Looks like what's good for goose is Not good for the gander?!

    Trip Mate, who handled your claim on behalf of TravelSafe, generally expected to finalize your claim and provide payment within 30 days or less of receiving your claim. Unfortunately an intense hurricane season increased the number of claims and delayed that turnaround time period from 60 to 90 days. As you know, Hurricane Irma struck from August 30th to September 12th; Hurricane Jose ranged from September 5th to September 21st; and Hurricane Maria from September 16th to September 30th.

The claim took two months to reach a settlement. I had to call Trip Mate several times in order to get a status of the claim. The online claim status function did not provide any pertinent information. Trip Mate did not do anything with the claim for the first 30 days. The claim should have been resolved in a couple of weeks or less since I had submitted 15 documents supporting my claim. The claim was finally resolved and I did receive full payment but it took too long too finalize and was very stressful for me.

    On behalf of Global Alert, we apologize for any stress that you may have felt due to the lengthy claims process. Generally Trip Mate, who handled your claim on behalf of Global Alert, does usually have a 30 day turnaround time. Unfortunately Trip Mate experienced a much higher volume of claims than anticipated after the damage inflicted by Hurricanes Irma, Jose and Maria which significantly slowed down the processing time.

AIG Travel Travel Guard MedEvac Plan
Acquiring the policy was easy. Ship operator mandated $150,000 evacuation coverage and my comprehensive travel policy only offered $100,000, so your policy filled the gap nicely at a reasonable price. Thankfully, no claims! Doubtful whether evacuation would have been possible at any price for most of the trip.
