I did not have to file a claim with C&F but did have a claim against the airline. My bag arrived totally open with missing items. Zipper handles where missing along with my TSA lock. The airline is reimbursing me for everything. This happened at the beginning of my three week trip to various
locations so the airline did not have much option. Paperwork a bit of hassle thought. I would still buy C&F Ins. just in case there was a hassle and did not get back in full from Airline.

This seems like a totally unfair response to our claim. The flight we were scheduled to fly on to the Pribilof Islands either had a pilot not show up or he showed up under the influence and therefore the "operational shortage." It was a three-and-half hour flight across the ocean. How could that be accomplished without a pilot?
We will never use your insurance again nor will we recommend it to others. This is the only claim we have ever made for travel insurance.
We were asking for only $500. which was our non-refundable deposit. We paid you $602.90 for the policy which was of no use whatsoever.

We also offer a free look back period with all of our plans to allow customers to cancel their policies within a designated period as long as they haven't already left on their trip or filed a claim. The plan you purchased can provide coverage if your flight is cancelled as a result of a mechanical breakdown of the aircraft, adverse weather, or an organized labor strike. Unfortunately the reasons you mention in your review are not considered mechanical breakdowns or organized strikes. This was the second time we have purchased a plan. In both cases it was much less expensive to get our own coverage than using the travel company. In the 1st case it was about $650. We will use Insure my Trip again!

We had a medical emergency in Munich, Germany and filed a claim for the physician treatment and medication needed. We were careful to fill out the forms carefully and submitted all the documentation from the physicians office and pharmacy. The claim was paid in the full amount about four weeks after filing. I am very pleased with Travelex Basic Plan and will highly recommend it to my travel companions in the future.
