We had a 4 day trip delay in St. Marten due to a huge snow storm that cancelled our return flight, and Nationwide was excellent in reimbursing me the maximum amount allowed under the policy for that delay. They were easy to get a hold of and courteous. I will definitely buy my trip insurance through them again!!!

We had one bag delayed for three days and had to buy some clothing and shoes in Belize until bag was found and forwarded to us. Your delayed baggage insurance doesn't kick in until the tenth day, so my wife was supposed to wear the same outfit for 10 days? You should make that clear on the summary of policy. It did not help our situation. We won't be buying that policy again.

    The HCC Medical Insurance Services Atlas International plan is a Single-Trip Medical plan which focuses on providing medical, hospitalization, medical evacuation, and repatriation benefits. HCC Medical Insurance Services Atlas International is a well rounded plan, but requires that the baggage is delayed for at-least 10 days.

    Baggage Delay is a benefit which is provided as a part of a Comprehensive plan. InsureMyTrip offers between 30-40 Comprehensive plans. In the future, please call us prior to purchasing a policy so that we assist you in selecting a plan that best covers your concerns. I did have to cancel my trip on a Caribbean cruise as my husband and I are undergoing fertility treatment. Based on the recommendations of the CDC and WHO, along with my own physician, we did not travel due to the Zika virus. The cruise lines and airlines themselves recognize that this is a unique situation and have taken steps to accommodate passengers in our situation. The airlines even going as far as fully refunding flights for pregnant or soon to be pregnant passengers flying directly to any affected country in full. In our case we we're flying to Florida for a cruise so we were not able to receive a refund. Believing that I had travel insurance for medical issues, I contacted the travel insurance company to file a claim. They told me that the possibility of contracting an illness was not covered under any plan, but that I would have coverage for it should I get sick while on the trip.

I was very disappointed. While I can understand to the general reasoning behind this policy, this was a unique situation where the governments of many countries were telling their citizens not to travel to a specific area for very serious reasons. We booked the trio before the advisory came out and I think every strongly that the travel companies should have been more helpful. Many at risk people were forced to make a health ca financial decision that they shouldn't have had to make. Luckily I was persistent in my own regard and came to a reasonable compromise with the cruise and air lines directly.

This was my first time purchasing insurance and I would be hesitant to do so again.

    AIG Travel Guard has issued the following response:

    "Some customers traveling to Central and South America have expressed concerns regarding a recent outbreak of the Zika virus. AIG has sent out a statement that as a general matter, under our US policies:

    - Trip Cancellation for concern or fear of travel associated with sickness, epidemic, or pandemic is not covered.

    - A customer who contracts Zika before traveling, but after purchase of the policy, could be covered for Trip Cancellation benefits.

    - Customers with Cancel For Any Reason coverage could be entitled to a percentage of their loss, depending on the level of CFAR coverage purchased (usually 50%, but can be up to 75%).

    - A customer who contracts Zika while on a covered trip, could be covered for Medical and Trip Interruption/Curtailment benefits if there is a confirmed diagnosis.

Plan covered everything I needed but didn't have to file a claim. Therefore, cannot comment on other reviewers' experience regarding slow claim processing. However, since all reviews indicate that the claims ultimately got paid, I felt the value offered vs. any potential processing delay was worth choosing this plan for myself. Would use again next time.

As i didn't have any reason to file a claim, I can't say much for the effectiveness of the plan or about the customer service, but the plan provided at least the peace of mind that I needed for my travels. I would likely book this insurance again in the future.
