I have complete confidence that if we needed medical services we would be taken care of completely. I never leave the USA without medical insurance. We eventually received a check in the mail for our claim. (There are 2 other checks still pending to our adult children living in other states.) But the only responses we ever got to our claim submission were emailed auto responses without anyone ever acknowledging what we had submitted or whether it was what was needed. The claims handling other than saying "we are swamped" was exceedingly noncommunicative.

Very difficult to file a claim. After finally getting the claim to go through and still haven't heard back after over a week. I can't mange what they would be like if you had a emergency over seas.

Often we think that insurance is not necessary. However, on my last foreign trip, a fellow tour trip member (with pre-existing conditions) got sick, was hospitalized, and sadly died. The unthinkable can happen. As my travel group learned about what happened to her, I was thankful to have travel insurance that would supply the support that I or travel companions might need.

About 10 days before my cruise, my mother (not traveling with me) had a medical incident and I was told she had days to live. I immediately canceled my cruise. Had I waited until she passed, there would have been less paperwork, but I knew I wasn't going, and she did eventually pass before the cruise. I opened a claim and then submitted all of the paperwork, including doctors notes, since she was still alive at the time of the cancellation. There is a lot of paperwork to prove payment, cancellation, loss of funds, medical reports, etc. It is a bit much, and some of it is confusing, but they are helpful over the phone. In less than one week, I was notified that my claim was approved. A great company and a great response. I will be buying from them in the future.
