Nationwide Mutual Insurance Luxury Cruise
Grumble, grumble,
I filed a claim for an Interrupted trip in May. NW requested additional info on July 9, 2022. I sent the info the next day. On Aug 22 I called and they confirmed that they had the info but the 60 day processing clock restarts with the additional info. Called again today 9/9/22 and the claim has not been processed. They will label for "Expedited audit" which should take 2-3 more weeks. I have purchased several Luxury Cruise policies and NW customer treatment is very poor. Once they get the additional info the clock should not start over. I am booking another cruise next week. Can you recommend a company with a comparable policy that has better customer service?

UPDATE Dec 6, 2022
My original claim was denied so I filed an appeal. On October 10 they asked for further documentation. I supplied the info on October 12th. As of Dec 6th I still do not have a disposition. I called Coordinated Benefits Plan (CPB) for an update and their systems have been down for two days. How is this any way to run a business?

UDATE Dec 7, 20022
CBP computers down for a 3rd day. They took my phone number and said they would call me when systems are back up. I decided to call Nationwide Customer Relations and opened a complaint. The agent will notify the proper insurance group at Nationwide of the delays and will call me back within two days. Stay tuned.

Final update 12/8/2022
Received an email from CBP that my claim will be paid in full. It shouldn't take 9 months to resolve a simple claim such as this one. At this point it is not delays related to the Covid shut down. Maybe they should have an Operations Mgr look at their workflow. Happy Holidays...

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus
This policy is the first time I actually had to file a claim (for a trip delay situation). The claim website was a little clunky, and I had to call customer service. They warned that there was a backlog, and results would take awhile. During the interval, I received two e-mails saying they were sorry it was taking so long, but finally they alerted me that they were paying out the amount that I had filed for, so I'm happy.

The concept of reviewing an insurance plan when you haven’t filed a claim seems not very meaningful. All insurance companies are pleasant and friendly while taking your money. It’s only when they’re asked to give you their money that you find out how good the policy actual was.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
Update: I would give this company MINUS 5 stars if I could. Horrible service and I never got paid until I filed a claim with the state insurance commission. And then they shortchanged me by $600 and have so far been unable to provide me documentation showing why. Do not use them. Original: I filed a claim that I'd already been told was good and I've been waiting months and months! to hear anything. No one EVER answers their claims phone number. I sent FIVE emails asking what was up, and finally just got a form email back saying they're still processing it. This is completely different from any other trip insurance claim I've ever filed. Very unsatisfactory.

Although I didn't have the need to file a claim, as our cruise went wonferfully, this plan provided me with the peace and worry-free trip we had planned. I know if something happened, we would have been covered while out of the Country.
