I had to extend my stay with two days and called to extend the insurance coverage,of course for an extra charge.To my surprise I was told they were unable to offer that.I was shocked when they also declined to sell me a new policy for the two extra days.I think it is very rigid and customer unfriendly.For that reason,I will never use Generali again.

    Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, with any Comprehensive plan, after you leave home the plan cannot be extended. The Generali Global Assistance Premium plan offers extension of coverage in the following event:
    "Extension of Coverage
    All coverages under the Policy will be extended if your
    entire Trip is covered by the Policy and your return is
    delayed by unavoidable circumstances beyond your
    control. If coverage is extended for the above reasons,
    coverage will end on the earlier of the date you reach your
    originally scheduled return destination or seven (7) days
    after the Scheduled Return Date."

    In the future, if you are extending a trip, please call us at 800-487-4722 and we can go over any available Single-Trip Medical plans for the additional dates that you need coverage.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
I use Insuremytrip routinely for my travel insurance needs because it offers a wide selection of mostly reasonably priced plans that provide the coverage I want. In general, the Insuremytrip website makes it easy to identify and purchase travel insurance. Fortunately, however, I have never had to file a claim. As a result, I am unable to comment on claims filing or
whether the insurance I select would meet my expectations if the need arose.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
We didn’t file a claim but do feel it was a worthwhile investment that gave peace of mind on major trip. Compared to other plans we looked at it had good coverage for the money.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Lite
Travel insurance is way too expensive for the risk ratio. It is based on a false risk assessment. That said customers feel they have to take it. I did not need the medical coverage but was forced to take it increasing my costs.

Generali Global Assistance Custom
Was hospitalized for food poisoning. Had to first file a claim with health insurance to determine was travel insurance would pay. Lots of documentation that I didn't have such as invoice for airline ticket purchased in foreign country. Luckily, when I asked for it through the credit card company and the airline didn't respond, the credit card company treated it as a disputed charge and gave me a credit.
Just make sure that you get every kind of documentation you can when you are there such as hospital records, receipts for cab rides, etc!

    It's unfortunate that you came down with food poisoning during your trip, but we trust that the discomfort is gone and your excellent health has returned.

    Although no one wants to plan for a claim before it happens, Generali, as well as most of our other providers, have a website for those travelers wishing to file a claim online:

    We recommend that you visit the travel insurer's website before you travel and review the claims information provided. Along with including claim forms for you to complete and submit, Generali also provides you with a list other documents that may be needed when submitting a claim. Please just remember that documentation varies depending upon the type of claim you're filing and depending upon the event that resulted in your loss.
