Never considered purchasing travel insurance until a coworker had a sudden death in her family the day her family was to leave on a $6000 vacation. I had a medical concern while in Colombia and needed to see a doctor. GeoBlue did provide a guarantee of payment, which was helpful, although I did not end up needing it because the costs were lower than my deductible. However, I was disappointed in the lack of knowledge on the part of the representatives about the medical partners in my area; I was led to believe that I would be visiting an English-speaking urgent care clinic, while in fact I found myself at a Spanish-speaking emergency room. The representatives had no idea if their partners were hospitals, clinics, etc, or how to get in touch with them to schedule an appointment. This was very frustrating.

All the coverages were what we needed and the price was reasonable for our age and needs. However, it is hard to comment on an underwriter until a claim is processed which has not happened with this policy.at this point The Berkshire reputation is excellent which is comforting.

The plan seemed to cover all of the items that were of concern. Foreign health insurance, trip cancellation, and trip alteration among them. Fortunately, we did not need to make a claim. I could not figure out how the "pre-existing condition waiver" worked. I acquired the insurance within 30 days of making my initial trip payment and within 24 hours of making my final non -refundable payment. I wanted only the two payments for transportation to be covered. All others were refundable. I assume that we were covered for pre-existing conditions. I need to be sure prior to our next trip.

The policy that you purchased included a waiver for pre-existing conditions with the following conditions met:
"a) Your Payment or Deposit for this Policy and enrollment form are received within 24 hours of the final Payment for Your Trip or before the final Payment for Your Trip; and
b) You are not disabled from travel at the time Your premium is paid."
