Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Thank you for your feedback. The HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Classic plan is a comprehensive travel insurance policy which provides a wide range of benefits. This plan offers a lengthy list of covered perils for Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption, which protects the investment you have made in the trip, and also provides reimbursement for incidents which could occur after departure, such as lost and/or delayed luggage, travel delay, and emergency hospitalization and medical transportation up to the policy limits.
Premiums for comprehensive policies are based largely on the length of the trip, the ages of the travelers, and the cost of the trip. A travel insurance policy is considered to be of good value when the policy premium is 4-10% of the insured trip cost. InsureMyTrip is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and our customer care representatives are licensed insurance agents who are able to recommend the most cost effective plans which will cover the travelers primary concerns. If you would like to receive assistance in obtaining a quote or purchasing a policy, please request a chat or call us at 800-487-4722. We would be happy to assist you.
I did have peace of mind about medical issues on the trip. My elderly mother, who did not have the same coverage got sick but recovered, was wishing she had the same coverage I had. Luckily my health was fine during the whole trip.

Fortunately, for as many times as we have insured our trips, we have not had to file a claim, thank goodness.
Am I satisfied with this plan? Yes, for items covered but I do not know how simple filing a claim would be.

It proved to be an adequate plan for my needs traveling to Ghana. A representative answered all my questions and assisted me with completing the application. I felt comfortable with the coverage for traveling internationally.

Had excellent customer service and guidance selecting a policy on the front end. There are a zillion companies and options, so needed insight into which was right for us. The lady was very nice and informative. Would recommend taking advantage of that. Thank goodness we didn’t have to file a claim this time, but did follow others’ advice to hang onto all documentation that proved we traveled, like boarding passes, baggage claim tags, doctor/hospital documents and all other receipts, etc. Having had to make claims in the past, this stuff made ALL the difference in how smooth and easy it was to be reimbursed.

I'm very displeased with compensation for missed connections. I've never made a travel insurance claim prior to this, so maybe my expectations are all wrong. Travel insurance apparently offers no benefit for your lost time. My return flight was delayed 3+ hours from Europe, which had a cascade effect in the US, causing an even greater delay. The airline gave me a stand-by ticket and a hotel room. I did not get selected for the first standby flight (there were 20+ people on standby that evening). My flight didn't leave for the final destination until the next day, resulting in a missed work day. What was reimbursed by this insurance plan? Only the ride share to/from the hotel, which was less than $40. What cost me the most money was that lost day of work. The claim took two weeks to resolve.
UPDATE 1: Let me clarify "resolve". Two weeks is when I received the explanation of benefits (EoB). My original review did not account for post-EoB incompetence. I filed on July 11. I was contacted with the EoB two weeks later. Then on July 30 I was contacted that my wire transfer could not complete. The rep didn't know if they needed wire or electronic/paper. There's a difference but rather than be specific, they then offered to transfer using PayPal. They ask which PayPal email. I tell them it's the same email as the claim. That was July 31 and I still have not received compensation. I'll update again when (if?) they can complete the transaction.
UPDATE 2: I received the PayPal transfer on August 13. That's 33 days from my original filing date for compensation totaling less than $35. Choose your plan accordingly, dear shoppers.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We have submitted this to the insurance company and they have provided the following response.
"Thank you for taking the time to post your concerns and we are sorry to hear of the frustration you experienced while traveling.
We would like to take this opportunity to explain how the policy offers coverage for the different benefits included. The policy that you purchased is a Named Peril Policy meaning the policy outlines how the coverage and benefits apply in the event that your trip is Delayed, Interrupted, or Cancelled.
Trip Delay offers reimbursement for Reasonable Additional Expenses that are incurred due to a Delay, caused by a covered reason, on your trip. Reasonable Additional Expenses are defined as “…expenses for meals, taxi fares, essential telephone calls, local transportation, and lodging which are necessarily incurred as the result of Trip Delay and which are not provided by the Common Carrier or any other party free of charge.”
We are happy to hear that the airline assisted with your hotel and return flight. In the event that the airline did not provide this help, you would have been eligible for these benefits under the policy. The amount reimbursed, under the policy, is less what is paid out from other travel providers, like the airline. Unfortunately, missing a day of work is not listed as one of the covered reasons for any benefits under any policy.
We appreciate your feedback, in relation to your reimbursement, and we did contact the Claim Administrator on your behalf. The Claim Administrator will take this opportunity to further improve their processes.
We trust that you understand the Claim Administrator’s decision is based on the terms and conditions of the policy and the available information.
