We are very satisfied with the way our claim was handled. My only complaint is that it was extremely slow. If a new document was requested, it would take 15 business days before action took place. It would be wonderful if you could check the status of your claim online as opposed to making phone calls. Our settlement was extremely fair. Hopefully we'll never have to file another claim!!!

We purchased the C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Lite Plan from InsureMyTrip for our recent trip to Iceland. We did some comparison shopping and found this offered the coverage we needed for a very reasonable price. While, fortunately, we did not have to file a claim, the peace of mind we had knowing that trip and medical costs were covered were worth the price.

Unable to evaluate the adequacy of the plan except insofar as it afforded us the "peace of mind" provided by the belief that we would have been well covered had a claim situation arisen, which did not happen. In that sense, we got what we wanted and the price and convenience in setting it up was acceptable to us, and included no unexpected surprises or problems. We would gladly return to the same providers in the future when the need arises based on our experience, and in fact we were return customers this time, based on our prior satisfaction using this provider. We did not compare the prices with other websites offering similar services before committing to purchase our plan.

I thought the plan was good but when I found out that I paid almost $90 for a 10 day trip and my bag got lost on the way back, I called and they told me that delayed baggage coverage was only for the way there which I obviously didn't know before. The customer service rep for AXA wasn't very friendly about it either. Luckily my bag turned up and I didn't need to make a claim. But I already paid for another policy for AXA for my next trip in October (previously paid for) so I probably won't use that company next year when I travel or I will read the fine print and pay less!

We do suggest reviewing the policy certificate, before and after you purchase a policy, to ensure you know what your policy does and does not cover. There are plans available that do offer baggage coverage to and from your destination, but as you know not all do. We had a 4-hour weather delay in Copenhagen for a flight to Bergen Norway. We were concerned that the flight might be canceled forcing us to remain in Copenhagen over night. Having the insurance as a backstop helped allay our concerns.

I was glad I didn't have to use it, but it was comforting to know that we had it anyway. No one likes to pay for something they don't use, but with insurance, it's always good to have adequate coverage in case of an emergency.

Obviously I did not really test the coverage since I did not file a claim, but the process was easy to obtain the coverage and the coverage seemed very competitive for what I needed. I would use Generali Global Assistance again.
