Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
The plan we chose gave us the coverage we wanted, as my spouse traveled to a different country, it gave me peace of mind as I stayed home that if a incident arose that the insurance would take care of most any health problem.

We have used Generali (under both the CSA; Generali names) policies for years without ever filing a claim and were satisfied. Now that we have gone through the difficult claims process, which took hours and involved some contradictory information from their online help, we'll switch to a company with a clearer description of the coverage offered. Other providers state very clearly what the medical and dental coverage includes, and we will choose between one of them for our upcoming trip. Since our credit card covers all the trip delay, lost and delayed luggage, etc, medical coverage is the important part of a trip that needs coverage from a travel insurance policy.

Thank you for your review. Although we can understand your wish to just wait until you return home to go for dental treatment, unfortunately no travel insurance provider including Generali would reimburse for dental treatment received once you are home.
We did contact Generali to explain the confusion in your policy wording.

While the coverage was very good the cost of the plan was expensive. After I purchased this plan and began to look at other policies the more I realized how much this plan really was for the dollar amount it was covering. For my next cruise, I will certainly shop around more carefully and doubt I will go with C&F unless the cost is more in line with others.

Premiums for comprehensive policies are based largely on the length of the trip, the ages of the travelers, and the cost of the trip. You happen to select the Worldwide Trip Protector Plan, which is a coverage enriched plan including the Preexisting Condition Waiver, Cancel for Any Reason, Interrupt for Any Reason, primary medical limits of 100,000 USD and emergency medical evacuation limit 1,000,000 USD. You will find that premiums for policies including Cancel for Any Reason are always more expensive that standard or basic plans.

We took out this insurance due to a family member with Stage 4 Merkle Cell Carcinoma, not knowing how long she would last, or if we could take a long-planned week's vacation in Italy. We'd never taken trip insurance before, and decided the $175 cost was a worthwhile investment. After my sister took a turn for the worst, we decided we would have to re-book our flight with SwissAir to a time later this year after the uncertainty of my sister's condition would not be an issue. But after reading about 30 pages of the 'fine print', we realized that this cancer was a pre-existing condition and we would not be covered for her illness. Very, very disappointed in having wasted $175 on a policy that has many exclusions.

Thank you for your review. InsureMyTrip contacted Generali Global Assistance claims department and were advised that you never filed a claim. In addition, the Generali claims department replied as follows:

This insurance is like fire insurance on your home...you hope that you never have to use it. However, common sense and normal risk management strongly suggest that this tool be employed on trips involving lengthy lead times and/or significant cost. In comparing several companies' offerings, I have repeatedly found the BH policies to offer the most coverage at competitive prices. I have used them several times and have been very satisfied.

Fortunately we did not have to use the plan coverage, which is the only reason I cannot confirm if it "covered everything" and why I rated it a 4 star. However the woman who helped me with the program when I first signed on for the 3 passengers involved was amazing, patient, clear in explanation and very thorough both on the phone and in email follow up. I am sorry I cannot recall her name but I give her 10 stars for customer service and I would certainly use this plan again on future trips.
