Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
We certainly agree that the Pre-existing Condition Waiver is of high importance in every purchase. All quotes on our website define a pre-existing condition. Your iTravelInsured LX plan defines Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion as:
"The Company will not pay for any expense as a result of any illness, disease, or other condition during the sixty (60) day period immediately prior to the date Your coverage is effective for which You or Your Traveling Companion, Business Partner or Family Member scheduled or booked to travel with You: 1) received or received a recommendation for a test, examination, or Medical Treatment for a condition which first manifested itself, worsened or became acute or had symptoms which would have prompted a reasonable person to seek diagnosis, care or treatment; or 2) took or received a prescription for drugs or medicine. Item (2) of this Exclusion does not apply to a condition which is treated or controlled solely through the taking of prescription drugs or medicine and remains treated or controlled without any adjustment or change in the required prescription throughout the sixty (60) day period before coverage is effective under this Policy."
Most plans offering the Pre-existing Condition Waiver if you purchase the policy within 10 to 21 days of your Initial Trip Payment. Your plan offered the waiver if you purchased the policy prior to or on the date of your Final Payment.
Please always remember that the best time to purchase is immediately after you make your Initial Trip Payment.
I thought the price we paid was very high, for the amount we insured. But we are both over 70 now, so perhaps that is one of the reasons. Also, since we live in Puerto Rico and have fewer options, that may have contributed to the price as well.

TravelSafe calculates their Comprehensive policy premium based on trip cost, age of traveler and length of trip. Unfortunately, only a few of our Comprehensive plans are available to residents of Puerto Rico.
Even though I didn't have to make a claim, after reading the many reviews before I purchased the plan, I knew this was the plan and company I wanted to use. The price was very reasonable and the coverage was exactly what I would have needed incase there was a problem.

While I have not had to use the insure I've purchased, I am very happy with the kinds of insurance offered by Insure My Trip. I am a senior citizen and my main concern is for health care while abroad and for possible lost luggage. Also important is the ability to cancel a trip should something happen that makes it impossible for me to go. They way the website is laid out makes it easy to compare and pick the right policy for me.
