The property which i visited in Aruba has a no refund policy 30 days prior to arrival and they recommended trip insurance....great idea and reasonable with CSA...it was comforting to know that I had travel insurance.

Even though my flight was delayed hours in ATL, I was on one of the last flights out before the fire at the airport on December 17. I made it to the cruise ship as they were doing the safety drill...minutes before leaving port. All this and I kept reminding myself I was insured. No matter if I made it to the ship in time, I would not have to pay for a cruise that might not happen. There were several people onboard who had unexpected medical issues (asthma attack, a fall, etc.). Knowing these incidents would also be covered gave me peace of mind. I told everyone I met about Insuremytrip.com. In all the years I have been buying trip insurance, thankfully I have only had to use it once. I will never go without.

The trip in general was uneventful. Until our return flight was rerouted for reasons of bad weather.
We lost our connection flight, and all subsequent bookings on later flights to our destination that day were cancelled for the same reason, leaving us stranded and away from home. It proved to be quite a hassle to find transportation that late in the day.
Unexpected expenses were incurred.
I filed a claim for the first time. I am glad I chose to buy travel insurance, just in case. But I always do.
I am glad I went with CSA. The process was involved, and it took a while, but the in the end, and after calling me back one last time to confirm the information, they sent a check for all the expenses incurred on that return lap of the trip.
I will have business with CSA again. It wasn't the first time I contracted CSA for travel insurance, but they have more than earned my business in the years to come. .... Just in case.

We were in Zimbabwe when the coup occurred November 15, 2017. When we learned of it and heard that US citizens should stay indoors, we decided along with our guide to leave Zim until we knew what was happening. We had paid for three nights stay in Hwange National Park and had one night there. We headed to Botswana and spent the next two days there until we felt that it was safe to travel back to Zim and on to Zambia to pick up our trip.

We lost two nights lodging in Zim and also the park fees. We had to pay for another visa back in to Zim so the costs were not insignificant. After returning home I downloaded the form for trip interruption added ALL of the paperwork and sent it off.

For the next four weeks we heard nothing. Not an email or any acknowledgement that CSA received the package we sent. Finally I called and was told that yes, they had received it and yes, it had a tracking number but the person handling the case was on vacation. Finally this week we received an email stating that they would reimburse us a partial amt of what we had claimed. It was not the most pleasant experience and I do not know if I would ever use this insurance company again. We travel a great deal and like to know that if something goes wrong that the insurance company has our backs. The policy was over $800.

It gave me peace of mind about some of the bigger catastrophes and common inconveniences that could occur, but I didn't end up needing to use it. So not sure what would have occurred had I needed to file a claim, but otherwise worked for me and my budget!

This was a great budget-priced plan. The only thing that concerned me was how your defined "pre-existing condition" since you do not have a way to cover that in this plan. Is a re-occurance of something that happened a year ago excluded?

    You are absolutely correct in stating that the CSA Custom is a very comprehensive budget priced plan especially with respect to its "covered reasons" under Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption.

    No one can predetermine a claim.
    However, if that condition re-occurred within the 180 days prior to the effective date of this policy, then yes, it would most likely be considered a preexisting condition.

    In the future, you may wish to call us for assistance in quoting and purchasing a policy. Customer Care is available weekdays from 7:00 AM to midnight ET and weekends 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
