Very slow review time....sent in mid Jan and reviewing info mid Feb...burdensome process with ridiculous requests of proof that should be an easy, simple, well documented claim to process (e.g. want bank statement proof vs vendor showing paid in full, want airline letter vs app text proving flight cancellation)....stall techniques to wear the consumer down do they don't pay the claim....seems to be in the business to deny what is right and fair and WELL DOCUMENTED!!!

This is the kind of insurance you especially hope you never need. But this trip took us into parts of Zambia and Botswana where local facilities did not exist. I wasn’t thinking about my insurance package every day while traveling, but a couple of times the thought crossed my mind that I’m glad it’s there. This insurance is worth the investment because of what it can deliver if you need it.

The plan offers more than what older people need. The most important item older people want is the ability if they must cancel their trip for medical reason to be covered. The rest of the plan is unnecessary.

We had planned to take a river cruise that was cancelled a month before our departure. Apparently, the company shut down all operations and eventually filed for bankruptcy. I filed a claim as soon as I discovered what was going on. Fortunately, I had previously printed copies of all correspondence from the company, including copies of their website confirming my cruise details and payment record. Before the bankruptcy was announced, the website was shut down and none of that was accessible. All of this, and more was required to be submitted to substantiate my claim - some of it was requested more than once. In the end, I had to wait many months until the bankruptcy case reached a point where it was obvious that customers were not going to get anything back before a determination of my claim was made, but they did pay my claim in full. As a caution, people who bought trip insurance through the cruise company - even though they claimed it was underwritten by the same US Fire and Insurance company - got nothing because their insurance was worthless once the company went bankrupt.

My wife baggage was delayed for about 18 hrs. I was filing a claim with I- travel website but for oddly some reasons it keeps asking to upload a documents which I provided for the first three steps. And there was a question if the airline settled the claim, there was no choices of N/A or no answers, so I couldn’t proceed to the next step. I called I- travel customer service, that’s a mistake on my part because the person I talked to kept saying use my desktop computer instead of my phone. She keeps saying my I-phone was the problem. With the amount of documents the website was asking, I rather use my phone to take photos and upload them. There were times that my conversation with this person became adversarial and my wife asked me to end the phone conversation. True to the point, you can find out if the travel company is good when you start making the claim. I should have trusted my own guts to stay with generali. I bought the insurance from them before and no issues when I made the claim. I have no idea how IMG has a high mark. I will not buy travel insurance from IMG again.

Well, well, well...
Our flight back was canceled, we were forced to buy and pay out of pocket for our flight back -- double the original fare! We filed a claim: denied, based on some stupid reasoning on page 22!!! on the contract!!!

Filed for the appeal/review...and 3 month later were paid about half of what they owed us, based on our understanding of coverage!
Something is better than nothing, I guess!

We had to cancel our January 26, 2024 cruise in mid-December when my husband needed an immediate knee replacement. I filed the claim paperwork on December 15, 2023. Today is March 1, 2024 and we finally got our claim resolved and received a payment today to reimburse our non-refunded cruise fare. I think the most annoying thing about the process was lack of communication and clarity as to the status of our claim. The first communication I received about the claim was 1 month after I filed. In addition to the documents that I originally filed, I was asked to provide additional documents to support my claim and had to scramble to collect them in a format that was acceptable to the agency. They did acknowledge receipt of the documents, but I heard nothing for several weeks. I finally started calling to check on the status of the claim. I will note that I was always treated respectfully by the agents with whom I spoke. This is the first time (and I do hope the last) that I have submitted a claim so I have nothing to compare the length of time it took to resolve the claim, but it did seem like a long time.
