We were fortunate that we did not have to use the travel insurance coverage as our trip was "event-free". But the coverage would have met our most important needs for a reasonable cost. My husband got sick and was hospitalized overseas on a previous trip, so we are very picky about what travel insurance we buy now.

You need to emphasize the importance of buying policy early to waive the pre-existence clause. I forgot it this year and it cost me.

Hard to review insurance if you don't have to make a claim! But it appeared to be good value for what I needed.

I was unsatisfied with the slow speed of processing our claim (two months) and the settlement. The company denied the airfare cost of my family of four returning home early from our Irish vacation because two of our party came down with pneumonia. They did pay for the medical and lodging costs due to an air delay, but not the cost of the additional airfare to cut our trip short, which was the bulk of our claim. I travel a lot and purchase trip insurance regularly. The one thing I purchase insurance for is hassle free coverage and timeliness. IMG fell short in both regards. This is the first time i have used IMG and it will be the last.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.Oct 16,2018
"The Company will not pay for any expense as a result of any illness, disease, or other condition during the sixty (60) day period immediately prior to the date Your coverage is effective for which You or Your Traveling Companion, Business Partner or Family Member scheduled or booked to travel with You: 1) received or received a recommendation for a test, examination, or Medical Treatment for a condition which first manifested itself, worsened or became acute or had symptoms which would have prompted a reasonable person to seek diagnosis, care or treatment; or 2) took or received a prescription for drugs or medicine. Item (2) of this Exclusion does not apply to a condition which is treated or controlled solely through the taking of prescription drugs or medicine and remains treated or controlled without any adjustment or change in the required prescription throughout the sixty (60) day period before coverage is effective under this Policy."
Most plans offering the Pre-existing Condition Waiver if you purchase the policy within 10 to 21 days of your Initial Trip Payment. Your plan offered the waiver if you purchased the policy prior to or on the date of your Final Payment.
Please always remember that the best time to purchase is immediately after you make your Initial Trip Payment.
