The Silver plan is the mid-level policy offered by John Hancock and may be ideal for families traveling with children, as kids 17 and under are free as long as one parent is covered under the plan. Coverage is offered if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip for a typical covered reason which can range from an unforeseen illness, injury or death to your destination being made uninhabitable by a natural disaster. The Silver plan does offer higher limits of coverage than the Bronze plan for Baggage, Travel Delay, Medical and Emergency Medical Evacuation.

We felt that we were covered by a reputable company if something unexpected should happen, and we could concentrate on enjoying ourselves to the fullest on our cruise. A variety of plans were offered with clear explanations of the coverage provided. It was easy to choose and purchase the insurance. We did not have to file a claim but it was nice knowing the coverage was there if we needed it.
