I think the price was a bit high, considering the likelihood of a claim (lack of likelihood, that is). However, this particular trip was so expensive that having some protection from serious issues was necessary. While I have never filed a claim, I have needed to use the Global Assist plan once when our reservations for a flight home were cancelled and we were stuck overnight in Mexico without a peso in our pockets.

Claim was made as one of our travelers cancelled . I got ‘cancel for any reason coversge’ I ended up with 75% of the cost refunded. Claim took almost 10 weeks to go through.

Travel Guard MedEvac Plan
Happy that I had coverage at least for MedEvac. I was looking for total coverage for MedEvac and flight coverage/cancellation. I did not know I had to apply for the total package while I was still at home which I was not and I was driving to my destination (the airport). I guess that is something I now know and understand.

This travel plan was expensive and I have no confidence at all that if needed, AXA would actually help us or pick up expenses. I need to rethink whether I need travel insurance in the future.

We thank you for your comments. Policy premiums are based on (1) age of travelers, (2) trip cost, and (3) length of trip. Your premium was only 0.059% of your total trip cost which was actually economically priced when compared to other plans with comparable coverage.

We bought this insurance to protect a large investment in a very special European vacation. We were concerned about possible severe weather events, labor issues in the countries we visited, as well as potential health issues and the usual risks of delayed flights and missed connections. Thankfully, our trip went well and we did not have to file a claim, but we were glad we didn't have to worry about unexpected and unavoidable problems.
