Had an issue with my international travel flight where the airline did not assign proper tickets to my reservations, so upon arriving at the airport, I wasn't able to get on the plane to start my trip and also causing me to miss a connecting flight. I had to reorder tickets with another airline to leave for my vacation the following day. Unfortunately, the problems I encountered were not covered on the insurance, so the insurance was a waste of money. Very bad experience and probably typical. Company has no problem taking your money, but when you need it because of an issue, the problem you encounter just happens to not be covered. I will never do business with CSA Travel Protection again and will not bother getting insurance for travel in the future.

    Comprehensive plans are designed to cover as many risks as possible, but is very rare for any insurance plan to cover all possible risks. The CSA Travel Protection Custom plan is a Comprehensive plan which covers a wide range of perils and hazards for Travel Delay and Trip Interruption. Unfortunately, it was determined that the event that interrupted your trip did not fall within the scope of Trip Interruption for this specific plan.

    We strongly recommend customers read the terms and conditions of the policy within the review period to determine if the policy fits your needs. If the policy does not fit your needs, it can be cancelled within the review period for a refund of premium. Please call us at 800-487-4722 if you have any questions or concerns.

We take customer service and the claims review process very seriously and cannot stress enough that it is important to review the coverage details of our plans via the sample Description of Coverage/Insurance Policy that’s provided at the time of purchase, and contact us at (800) 348-9505 or via email at [email protected] with any additional questions you may have. We also offer a free look back period with all of our plans to allow customers to cancel their policies within a designated period as long as they haven't already left on their trip or filed a claim. The plan you purchased includes approximately 20 different covered events under which we can provide coverage if you are forced to interrupt your trip. While the plan is typically able to provide coverage if your trip is interrupted due to your flight’s cancellation or delay resulting from adverse weather, mechanical breakdown of the aircraft or an organized labor strike, the plan is unfortunately unable to provide coverage for general ticketing problems. If there is something specific that you want to be sure is covered, feel free to ask about it before you purchase the policy. John Hancock Silver
My concern was not only for safety of immediate family travelling with me, but for possible health issues of close relatives back home that might jeopardize the trip. Hence I bought a "cancel for any reason" plan just to be safe. We completed a wonderful trip to Ireland with no complications, thus we made no claims and have no issue with John Hancock (or InsureMyTrip). The range of policies and assistance I got from several InsureMyTrip representatives was impressive. I'd recommend this site to anyone making a big investment in major travel plans.

Global Alert! Preferred Plus
We were going to Paris and London and due to the Westminster Bridge attack and the elevation of the terror level to the highest its been in years I was concerned. My trip was only days away.I called about whether I could change my plans and go somewhere else other then England. I had a non refundable hotel booked there. My plan included "cancel for any reason" but I didn't want to cancel my trip, just change it so I could travel somewhere that didn't just experience 2 terror attacks in 2 months. When I called the women I spoke to basically said there was nothing I could do except cancel everything and forfeit 25% of what the trip cost.
One of the reasons I took out this policy was because of the random terror attacks going on and I wanted to be covered in case something happened. But in my case it was worthless.

    Thank you for your feedback on your policy. Cancel for Any Reason gives the traveler the ultimate flexibility to cancel the trip for any reason, including high-level terror threats or fear of traveling due to terrorism. To use that benefit on your policy, however, you would have to cancel your entire trip no less than 2 days prior to the Scheduled Departure and you would be reimbursed 75% of your non-refundable trip cost.

Excellent plan that provided all I wanted in Travel coverage. Lost luggage, last flights, medical and if needed, evacuation coverage. Happily, I did not need any of the services offered. The peace of mind for knowing I had coverage if needed was the greatest benefit.
As for Insure My Trip. The best. One place to review all plans from different companies. This was my second purchase through InsureMyTrip.com and I am very satisfied with them.
Highly recommend both Global Alert and InsureMyTrip. com.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
