HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Preferred
Thankfully I didn't have to file a claim. However, shortly after booking my vacation to Punta Cana, we decided to change our destination for safety reasons. I contacted HTH and they were gracious enough to modify my plan at no additional cost. I was very impressed.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Universal Cruise
We had planned a cruise with my aging parents. When it become clear my mom's health would prevent us from traveling, we submitted a claim with supporting documents. Customer Service was nice and pleasant to work with when we had a question. Within three weeks we had our refund!

First time I had bought trip insurance, had flights either delayed or canceled but had no out of pocket loss as a result. Therefore could not claim anything.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
I needed to talk to a customer service representative regarding the Hawaii hurricane situation. I didn't think my plan would cover a hurricane and was only seeking confirmation. I called C&F Travel, and after waiting about an hour, I left my phone number for them to call back. The message stated that if I left my number, I would not loose my place in line and they would call me. They never called me, or left a message if I missed it. Wow, that was rude!

    "a cancellation of Your Trip within 48 hours of Your Scheduled Departure Date and time if Your Trip destination is under a hurricane warning issued by the NOAA National Hurricane Center, provided the cancellation of Your Trip occurs more than 14 days following Your Effective Date of coverage for the Trip Cancellation Benefits;"

I was pick-pocketed in Barcelona, Spain and found out that the vacation money in my wallet ($500) was not covered under baggage loss. Live and learn.

    Although it is never pleasant to discover that you have an uncovered claim, you will find that Generali Global Assistance, along with most travel insurance plans, exclude coverage for "...money, stamps, stocks and bonds, postal or money orders, securities, accounts, bills, deeds, food stamps or credit cards..."

    Because there are no travel insurance plans that will cover every situation, InsureMyTrip encourages travelers to carefully review your policy certificate prior to purchasing the policy. Generali also offers a 10 day review period:

    "10-DAY RIGHT TO EXAMINE YOUR DESCRIPTION OF
    COVERAGE
    If you are not satisfied for any reason, you may cancel coverage under the policy within 10 days after receipt. Your premium payment will be refunded, provided that there has been no incurred covered expense and you have not left on your Trip. Return the Description of Coverage to us at the Program Administrator’s office or our authorized agent. When so returned, the Description of Coverage is void from the beginning. After this 10-day period, the payment for this coverage is nonrefundable."
