We travel to Mexico every year, and we always purchase travel insurance, specifically for the medical and evacuation coverage. This year during our 3.5 month stay, my father-in-law became gravely ill, so we had to travel back. We made it in time to be with him when he passed. Later, we traveled back to complete our trip. After returning home, we telephoned, and received information on how to file a claim, as the policy covered trip interruption, which we never had even thought about. Within a couple of weeks of them receiving all of the required documents, we received a check in the mail, which covered approximately three quarters of our expenses.

This plan gave me peace of mind in case I needed to use it. However, they weren't very good with e-mailing documentation or plan costs. I think the only time I received information about plan cost was over the phone as I was making changes. Also, I could not find a single e-mail with the specific coverages and limits of my plan. I did have a hefty PDF with the general terms and conditions, but nothing outlining my specific coverages.

We did review the correspondence that you received from Travelex and did find that you received their Confirmation of Coverage and policy certificate when you first purchased the policy. The Confirmation of Coverage was a link at the bottom of the email containing your name, coverage and trip details.
This policy did not change until you called us on May 1st to amend the return date and increase your total trip cost. Once this request was processed, Travelex again sent you a revised policy showing the change in premium and including a revised Confirmation of Coverage.
Although you did not see the documents attached to the emails from Travelex, it should be there if you review your correspondence. If you still need our assistance, please give us a call.

I had to cancel my planned trip due to a medical issue. After my conversation with the Generali Global representative, I submitted my claim along with the medical and requested documents. Generali Global quickly processed my claim and advised that the trip costs would be covered. I have used Generali Global on my previous travels and have always been satisfied with their coverage. Because I have always had good results, I usually recommend Insuremytrip.com and Generali Global to my friends and family.
