We had a cancelled flight resulting in an over-night stay and two meals in Chicago. With one phone call, "Miguel" pleasantly explained my coverage, how to submit the claim, and, although telling me the claim form was on their website, promptly emailed it to me. Submission of the claim was easy enough and I received a full reimbursement check about 2 weeks later. I was very pleased with the pleasant and prompt service.
Attention other reviewers...If you did not submit a claim, your review is unnecessary! Saying, "Coverage looks good," or anything like that, gives no evidence of their service! Save space for folks who actually required assistance.

I continue to believe that travel insurance is more costly than necessary. No question, travel insurance is a must for expensive and foreign travel.

Didn't have to file a claim, so no comment on that. Coverage seemed reasonable for what I needed and well priced.

Having the insurance plan in place prior to our departure gave us peace of mind regarding some of life's events that had a potential of happening - especially with aging parents. Although we did not need to file any claims, we felt it was worth the reasonable cost to have know all would be OK should we have had to make some changes to our traveling plans.

I had no claim, so the most important aspect of the policy was not used. The primary (not secondary) insurance coverage is most important to me.

I called to find out about submitting a claim as we had to abort the trip and return one week earlier than planned when my husband became unable to continue due to a chronic medical condition. We had to get a flight back to the US immediately so he could see his Doctor. I was told that because he didn't see a Dr. in Edinburgh, the coverage could not help nor give us any monies back. We came back immediately because he needed to see his own Dr. familiar with his condition.
This is inadequate coverage not affording the insured the opportunity to submit a claim and being told basically 'don't bother because the plan won't cover your husband' since he didn't see a Dr. before leaving Scotland.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We hope that fellow customers will find your review and our response to be educational and informative.

We are sorry to learn that you had to interrupt your trip due to an illness that your husband suffered. The John Hancock Bronze plan provides coverage up to 10,000 USD per person for unforeseen, accidental injuries or emergency illnesses which first occur during the trip, and are treated by a physician during the trip. If medical treatment is not obtained during the trip, and the traveler waits until returning home to the United States, the travel insurance expires and does not cover the medical bills.

Fortunately, I didn't have to use the insurance, so I can't give a review.

I guess the best case scenario is that we didn't need to use it, and that's where we stand. My daughter did come back from India very sick, but it was good to know that if she had needed the coverage (got sick earlier, while she was still in India), then she had good coverage. Some of the other students in her group did get sick enough to be medically evacuated. The policy didn't cost that much, and I'm glad that we had the peace of mind.
