Somehow I gave the wrong date range when planning my trip 1 year ago. When I saw this error just 1 week before I left, I called customer service and painlessly corrected the error.
Did not need to file a claim as the trip went off without a hitch.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
Always a good idea to get travel insurance. You never know what may happen. Over the past 5 years I have had to make 3 claims- all for different reason, but was so glad the insurance covered it all.

I, thankfully, didn't need to file a claim, but the coverages were in place for nearly all eventualities. The price was fair, as well. Insurance is a pure "peace of mind" product, until things wrong! during the time leading up to, during and after my trip, I had peace of mind! I'd recommend your product/services to anyone.

We take several things into consideration when we compare cost of travel insurance. We look at coverage, price, ratings by previous clients and the overall company rating. This plan was what we needed at a competitive price with a well known company like Nationwide. We will consider them again for our next trip.

I purchased this because last year I got derailed by hurricane Irma. I paid a lot for house so insured in case. Well got hit by Florence. Roads were cut off by flooding on 501 getting in to Myrtle beach and Conway flooding. With the fear it would continue to get worse not better. Having two babies to risk flooding roads and the constant fear of flooding, roads were closing constantly. Could not risk their lives. When tried to make claim informed since house wasn’t destroyed by hurricane had no insurance. Everyone I told said this was bull. So I spent 800 to fly in so we could keep my family out of danger and we did the trip. People told us they were stuck on roads 12 hours, cars ran out of gas stranded everywhere and people feared getting out that made it in as rivers crested. This was a worthless piece of paper. Great company was surprised.

We certainly understand your frustration when told that there was no coverage to cancel your trip under this policy. In order to receive payment under Trip Cancellation, you must cancel your trip for a covered reason as listed in the policy. The number one covered reason is the unforeseen illness or injury of you or a traveling companion that deems you unfit to travel, by order of a licensed physician; or the unforeseen hospitalization or death of a family member. However, there are other covered reasons to cancel that may vary by plan.
With respect to hurricanes and natural disasters, here are the covered reasons included in your policy:
"You or a Traveling Companion... having Your principal place of residence made Uninhabitable by fire, flood, volcano, earthquake, hurricane or other natural disaster...;
You, a Traveling Companion or Family Member, who are military personnel, and are called to emergency duty for a natural disaster;
Weather that causes complete cessation of services of the Common Carrier for at least twenty-four (24) consecutive hours and prevents You from reaching Your destination. This benefit will not apply if the potential natural disaster has been forecasted or a storm has been named prior to purchase of this coverage...;
Natural disaster at the site of Your destination that renders Your destination accommodations Uninhabitable..."

I had baggage delayed 5 days. A very simple claim for $30 for some essentials I had to buy. I had receipts and any other info required. I did get reimbursed by Nationwide, but it took more than two months. This claim was so obvious and simple it should have been handled in a matter of days. I actually got a quicker response from Malaysia Airlines, and they are half way around the world.

I called for assistance because my husband had forgotten to bring all hidd medications. We were told there was nothing you could do to help us obtain the meds, and I was very disappointed by that.
