GoReady Insurance Choice
I understand that the insurance company is based out of Miami and there were two hurricanes back to back. However, I had to send my claim in twice because they said they didn't get the first one. I just forwarded the original email to show it was previously sent. The countdown was started on their end based on the second email. This started their timer a week later than originally submitted. They then arbitrarily changed their deadline from 30 business days to 45 business days. I didn't receive an email about this. A blast email could have been sent to everyone who had filed a claim. While they paid my claim for what I expected, I felt that communication from the insurer was very poor. This is a major negative in my opinion.

Our problem was simple and not costly. Our luggage was delayed 36 hours on a trip to Ireland. We filed a claim (with all documentation) for $119 for items we had to purchase while awaiting our luggage. We received a terse generic email acknowledging receipt of our claim shortly after filing. And we finally did receive a check for $119 a little over one month later. I don't mind a one month processing time HOWEVER there was no further communication from the company during that period, leaving us wondering what was going on. They should do an update email occasionally during the claim processing. Hopefully, there is better communication if someone has a serious issue while traveling.

Global Alert! Preferred
I'm reluctant to recommend this company due to the slow claim processing. They acknowledged receipt of my claim with supporting documentation on 9/5/17 stating that the claim process would take 20 to 25 days. My claim was a very cut and dry claim under the Trip Delay/Trip Cancellation Benefit of the policy. I did not receive payment until 11/6/17 after four phone calls to Trip Mate, Inc and the assistance of an advocate from Insuremytrip.
