Since I have never filed a claim, I really don't know the answer to these questions. I buy this type of insurance because the ONE time in ten times we've traveled to Europe, and we did NOT have insurance, I ended up in the hospital in Italy!

My suggestion relates to the information that I received from an inquiry to the Concierge service. I requested a list of hotels in the Hue, Vietnam area. Perhaps when someone asks for a list like this for another location information could be sought from them concerning the price range/s they would be interested in.

One trip we traveled without insurance for our teenage son. You know young ones are healthy and don't need to worry. WRONG! An Appendicitis attack sure made a $3000 mistake out of not purchasing $59 in coverage. Always purchase some travel insurance when traveling, but especially outside the USA. Thank you CSA.

The only thing I would ask is a coverage protection without medical coverage, as my personal medical plan allows for that. It seemed like more than I really needed, otherwise the protection gave us peace of mind as we booked more than six months in advance.

I thought that our train tickets were stolen/lost and called the hot-line at midnight Prague time. The operator who answered was very helpful but I found the tickets while I was holding.

We had a medical issue arise and were afraid we might not be able to be authorized by the doctor to take the cruise. 4 days before the cruise the doctor said it would be okay to take the cruise if we kept it as a laid-back type cruise and not too active. We contact CSA and received wonderful guidance from them before the doctor gave us the okay. The trip took place and everything was fine. We were relieved to have the CSA policy and we were thankful it was there should we have needed it at the last minute.
