Didn't have to use it so I can't really say for sure if it is a good product or not. I did have the peace of mind that I had insurance, so that is a good thing. I picked Nationwide because I already am a customer and I am familiar with some of your products.

What can I say? Insurance is a necessary evil and I had to purchase a policy. This one was adequate and served my needs. I think insurance rates are always too high and that is why the companies can build the biggest buildings with their profits and the consumers struggle to pay all their bills.

The initial response of the company processing the claim for Nationwide was prompt; however, their response time moved into the unacceptable range over time. It felt as if they were "slow walking" our claim with requests for information that had previously been provided to them. There was even a conversation with a person where they said, "Oh, I guess we missed that."
In the end, it felt like they were delaying the processing of our claim because they could. We did finally receive our money which is why our rating wasn't lower.

We have used Insuremytrip for several adventures over the past several years. Have never had to make a claim, but feel very comfortable with the offerings of coverage and believe they would come through if we did have a claim. I find it much better priced than going through a tour company.

We were unhappy to find out this insurance did not cover denied visa because there has been a lot of trouble getting visas approved to China. Otherwise it was seemingly good, but we bought it in hopes of covering us incase of visa denial and later learned it would not have helped.

    We are sorry to hear that you had to cancel your trip because you were unable to receive your travel visa prior to your scheduled departure date. Since this was not listed as a "covered reason" in your Nationwide Essential plan, there would be no reimbursement under your Trip Cancellation coverage. "Covered Reasons", which vary from plan to plan, may be reviewed prior to purchase by clicking on the dollar amount of Trip Cancellation coverage within the quote.

    Reimbursement would have been available to you if you had purchased a policy that included "Cancel for Any Reason". Subject to the policy's terms and conditions, CFAR allows you to cancel your trip for other than a covered reason. In the future, you may wish to call Customer Care at 800-487-4722 for assistance with a CFAR quote.
