One of the other great things about my experience with Travel Guard was the Customer Service. The various representatives I spoke with were always courteous and friendly, took the time to explain everything and answer all my questions. Nowadays, Customer Service goes a long way in customer satisfaction, and Travel Guard gave me one of the best Customer Service experiences I've had. It's also nice that they don't have innumerable computer-generated menus (just a very few) you have to go through before you reach a representative. Good Job Travel Guard! The plan is very good for a big emergency, but for casual problems it is very difficult because we need to call for a USA phone, and in my case that I was in Australia and that i did not have celphone to call to USA.

This is definitely travel insurance. My father sold insurance and explained insurance this way: a know loss (the premium) to cover you in case of even more significant loss. So there is a cost. I did not file a claim because I did not have anything go badly. The plane ride in was uneventful even if dreadfully long. The cruise delivered as promised. The shore excursions went off without a hitch except for one that was cancelled due to rain - and we got reimbursed for that. So we got what we paid for, but were were NOT hit with any unexpected and untoward expenses. Isn't the best insurance that which you never need to use? I think so.

Universal Cruise
Cruise coverage had a change of port provision. Due to hurricane activity, the cruise line changed the ports prior to departure. Nationwide processed my claim quickly and paid the claim without a problem. The required paperwork was complete but not burdensome. I would recommend Nationwide cruise coverage based on this experience.
