Was diagnosed with pneumonia the day before the flight to Hawaii, luckily I didn’t have to cancel the trip, it was comforting to know that I had trip cancellation with Generali Global Assistance. I wasn’t going to purchase insurance because I felt that my husband and I are in good health, I purchased the coverage at the recommendation of two neighbors. So glad I did. It was definitely worth the price of mind.

Unfortunately, I had to cancel the trip. My claim was processed in a timely manner. I got excellent support from Generali's the agent for filing my claim. I do recommend Generali travel insurance.

Very Upsetting Day with my flight cancelled (found out after sitting in the airport from 4:15 pm - 7:00pm waiting for the airline counters to open). My claim (Travel Delay) took 4 weeks & check will take another 7-10 business days. Dissatisfied with the plan that I selected for this trip.

Make sure you read the fine print and understand when the policy will pay. I was in the path of Hurricane Florence and was very lucky to make my flight out of Charlotte. I wanted to change my ticket to the next day but Alitalia would not agree and then I found out that Generali Global Assistance also would not have covered me if I had not been able to get to the airport but the flight was not cancelled or delayed. It turns out the flight was delayed, and I actually was able to drive to Charlotte and make the flight. But it was very worrisome to find out the policy did not cover what I expected it to.

Kenya Airways lost one of my bags and I had to return to the US before it was found. I contacted your claims people and spoke to Courtney who was very helpful in answering some general questions. Thankfully, the bag was returned to me intact (thanks to Delta) and no claim was needed.

My American Air Lines flight from Denver to Raleigh was cancelled October 1 because of Hurricane Florence even thought RDU Airport was not closed. Maybe AA could not get the scheduled aircraft to Denver. I had to spend Monday night in Denver. Because the hurricane formed before I left on my tri[ I was not reimbursed for my motel room. I think for now on I will just skip trip insurance and I a reserve fund for things like that. It would be less expensive in the long run: $288 for insurance, $150 for room (not reimbursed).

    Thank you very much for taking the time to submit your review. It is never pleasant to hear that your claim was denied. However, once a storm has been named, it is a foreseen event and no claims related to that storm would be covered. Since this plan was purchased after Hurricane Florence was named, there would be no coverage, unfortunately. To have coverage for hurricane related claims, you would be required to purchase a policy prior to a storm being named, this would be the standard for all travel insurance providers.
