You never know how good insurance is until you have to file a claim. However, the price and coverages were good and I have had recommendations from others. I have used CSA before and hope I never have to test it.

I took out insurance so I didn't have to worry about any emergency. Your policy of pre-existing conditions wasn't clear to me as to the fine line between what was pre-existing and what was discovered, or activated, during the trip. It seems to me to be vague enough to exclude almost anything except an accidental wound. Consequently I was not as confident in your insurance as I expected to be.

    Thank you for your feedback on the policy. Most travel insurance companies have an exclusion for pre-existing conditions in the form of a look back period. CSA Travel Protection specifies the right to look back 180 days into your medical history, prior to the effective date of coverage. Any claim you file that is related to a known medical issue within the look back period will be denied. The large majority of our providers offer a benefit called pre-existing conditions waiver. If you qualify for a pre-existing conditions waiver, the company waives its right to the look back period. To qualify for the pre-existing conditions waiver, you generally must meet the following requirements: purchase the policy within 10-30 days after making your initial trip payment, insure the full non-refundable cost of the trip, and be medically fit to travel when you purchase the policy.

The plan was exactly what I was looking for in terms of both coverage and cost. The coverage was clearly explained so I felt like I understood what I was getting. I only had one question which I thought of immediately after I paid for the plan and I tried to call customer service. My flight left at night on the 12th but I didn't arrive home until the 13th and I used the departure date on my plan as the end date. My question was, would I be I covered if anything happened on the 13th? So in other words should I have extended my coverage date through the 13th even though I was already en route? When I called and followed the prompts, I got to the place where the recording said someone would be with me and then my call was disconnected. It was late and I was tired so I never called back. Thankfully, I didn't have to use the coverage but there was a hint of doubt that troubled me as to the level of service I might expect.

I have obtained trip insurance from InsureMyTrip a few times now and have been very satisfied each time. I am glad not have had to ever file a claim, but have felt at ease knowing the coverage was there. Also, this year when I made hotel reservations in Europe I took advantage of non-refundable lower room rates by pre-paying knowing that if I did have cancel, I was covered by my trip insurance. Although I know I can obtain coverage online I have been particularly grateful for the assistance offered by Customer Care in finding plans that meet my needs.

The 24 hour medical assistance service was really excellent. They were very responsive and kept in frequent touch with me both before and after they secured me an appropriate and convenient doctor's appointment in Tokyo.

Thankfully I did not have to use the plan. But it gives me peace of mind that I have a back up plan if something happened. I definitely will recommend this travel insurance carrier to friends. Plus the price was affordable. Thank you for your good service on the phone too.

You don't really know how good your insurance is until you need it. Happily we did not need it beyond peace of mind. We did incidently take out insurance for one day short of our arrival home which was a day later than our departure, but we had no problem correcting that initial oversight.
