Although I didn't have to file a claim I was impressed with the coverage & price. I had picked another insurance & before purchasing I looked over the choices & found CSA for much less but with what appeared to be the same coverage. I checked with a customer service rep at insuremytrip & was assured that the coverage was the same.
I have used insure my trip for years & highly recommend the process over tour operator offers.

I was happy with the ease of taking out the Travel protection. It is hard to evaluate your coverage because no claim was made. I did it for the security of the protection, but still consider it a risk that there was some fine print I missed and if I made a claim it would not be covered. This is not saying that you would not have stood behind your policy. I did check you out with the BBB and you passed with flying colors. I would consider using your service again.

I'm an insurance broker so the purchase of trip insurance was not an extraneous purchase for me - it was second nature. I am used to comparing policies and premiums - also second nature - and I found that Insuremytrip and CSA provided ease of comparison and pricing, and ease of purchase and of confirmation. Your policy can be delivered by e-mail. Best to purchase at least couple of weeks prior to your departure date.

I returned from Egypt about a month before the revolts happened. I did not need to use the insurance since I apparently planned my trip under a lucky star - but people I know were there when the US was telling travelers to get the heck out of Egypt. If anyone doubts the wisdom of purchasing trip insurance, look at the provisions for "Travel Delay". The affordable plan from CSA that I purchased would have provided protection up to an amount of $1,000 - which I'm sure the folks who eventually were flown to Istanbul (on their own dime) and then left to make further arrangements back to the U.S. would certainly have welcomed.

Enjoy your trip! (And buy the insurance; because, as we all know - stuff happens!)

One of our suitcases was damaged and we thought we would file a claim. Because there is so much red tape involved in even submitting the claim we will just buy ourselves a new suitcase without involving CSA. Ridiculous what you make people go through for the price of a new suitcase.

I am unable to provide accurate ratings because I only had one interaction with the claims process and it was not satisfactory. From that one experience, I would have to guess about other possible claims. So, I don't feel qualified to rate the policy as a whole. It's possible that had I had other problems, the policy and process might have been much more satisfactory. Please read below.

As I traveled, I felt very secure with the plan. It was economically priced, and it covered many facets of travel. We were fortunate in that we didn't need to make any claims as we traveled.

However, our luggage did not return with us. We flew from Cape Town to Amsterdam. We had no luggage for customs in Amsterdam. We almost missed our flight from Amsterdam because it took so long to figure out that the luggage was gone and to figure out what to do about the situation.

We then flew from Amsterdam to Chicago and onto Salt Lake City. We were told that since SLC was our final destination, we needed to report the missing luggage in SLC.

When I called about the insurance coverage for delayed and lost luggage, I learned that your phrase "during the trip" meant that your coverage does not work if the luggage is lost upon our return trip. I thought that was not at all clear by the statement "during the trip." When I told the CSA agent that it was lost during the trip because it was lost before we ever reached Amsterdam, he said that he didn't think that would make a difference but that I could try to file a claim if I wanted to do that.

It has taken 48 hours for my daughter to hope to see her luggage. She has to miss a day of work to be at home when the luggage is delivered. The costs are mounting.

I'm disappointed to learn that the phrase "during the trip" does not include our return trip. To me, that is still during the trip. Even if the luggage had gotten as far as Chicago with us, it would still seem that to not show up just in SLC would constitute "during the trip".

    I agree with Kristi - and my question is only what constitues During the trip as if you & luggage are not returned to the end point of the trip you in fact are on the trip. Reply from CSA please

Have never needed to file a claim with CSA but provides me peace of mind if my job were to make it such that I had to change plans at the last minute. This way I can make plans way ahead but can afford to change plans at the last minute if needed, because I can get back some of my money on the original ticket price.
Don't need all the medical coverage on travel within the US but it is an extra.
