My ratings are arbitrary just to file this review. I find it difficult to make any ratings as I did not need to file a claim. However, since this was quite an expensive trip for us (safari in Tanzania), I was glad to have the insurance just in case of any emergencies.

Italy was great! You might want to check the flooding schedule in Venice if your hotel is on the Venice Islands. We were flooded with 8 inches of water in the hotel lobby. Had to escape by wading (in our shoes) to the water taxi to the airport. Fun! Right!

I bought this insurance primary to cover trip interruption due to elderly parent illness or death or some unexpected accident of a younger family member. Because I purchased the insurance at the last minute I needed to go through a personal rep and not purchase on line. This proved to be very helpful as she gave tips about how do document medical expenses should they occur, concierge services that were included, and clarified how to my primary household/health insurance would do first claims and travel insurance would be secondary. While we personally had a nice uneventful trip one in our tour group had her purse stolen even though she had the strap wrapped around her leg as she sat on a bench in a busy square waiting for our group to proceed to our bus pic-up spot, (stolen by a team of thieves who sliced the strap), and we observed how distressing that event was to her and how expensive to replace her passport, lost cash, credit cards. She did not have travel insurance. Also since we were a large group of 300 people traveling home on Sunday Oct 28 some traveling to or through the DC, VA, NJ, and NY area many had flight delays and/or cancellations for ?? days. Are they home yet, who knows. Had we been in that group we would have had some coverage. After one returns home from a trip without having to use any aspect of the insurance one often wonders if on the next trip could this insurance expense be skipped and the money saved or used to buy souvenirs? It's a bet. Betting an uneventful trip or problems. I think for the cost and coverage it's better to be safe than sorry. When one spends that much money for 2-3 weeks of international travel if something does go wrong it's good to know that at least people are there to assist in recovery and getting you back on track to finish one's trip.

I nearly had to cancel the trip to Japan part way through the trip. My credit card pin numbers did not work, even though I used one of them last year in Japan. Therefore I was unable to get cash advances off of the card without the pin number. Fortunately 7-11 in Japan supports the use of my debit card, which I found out from a friend. This saved our trip and a claim! Make sure you know your pin numbers as Visa will only send new ones to your home address!

It was a good decision that we bought CSA travel insurance for it changed Celebrity's participation to assist us in finding a Dr or a hospital on the next port we dock. We were supposed to pay Eu220.00 and Eu160.00 for taxi and dr's office visit only and the accompanying expenses on that visit. When Celebrity cruise line found out we have travel insurance, they informed us that the ship will take care of any expenses from then on( informed us that same night).
It became hopeful for us but to reach or contact US was not at all easy, I have to stay at the concierge's counter all afternoon just to reach you because of inaccessibility of signal from ship at sea.
This is a travelers nightmare if we are able to reach you. The Concierge Lady Anca at Solstice was very helpful, patient and ever willing to help us.
With all that has happened during our trip, I must say it's good to have travel insurance every time you travel ESP European countries. All I can say is that for any travel insurance to get more involved in cruise ship
Excursions and provide warnings or awareness on the places the ship's or any online vacation excursion offerings because all they want is sell the traveler the excursion for a fee and no fore-warnings of what it entails to the traveler like Kotor and Pompei specifically. Also CSA was unwilling to alleviate hardship and suffering for my husband and me to travel close to each other since it was too much of a discomfort for my husband and to the person next to him in the Business class section because I was there to check on him always during that long haul flight from Barcelona to Miami. Those people don't need to be subjected to sit next to a handicapped and my husband heard unsavory comment from a lady next to him.
I sure hope this would come to your attention for insured's future planning of trips or any others future travels. Thank you for prompt action on the incident and will check out more details on travel insurance on our next travel, God willing.
